Animation and Motion Design Minor
The Animation and Motion Design Minor provides students with the skills and knowledge needed to create engaging and effective animations for various media platforms. Students learn the principles of animation, motion graphics, and visual storytelling, as well as gain hands-on experience with industry-standard software and tools. This minor prepares students for careers in animation, motion design, and related fields.
Note: to receive the minor, students must successfully complete each of the required courses.
Grade Requirements: Students must earn a GPA ≥2.5 in minor coursework.

Students who earn an Animation and Motion Design Minor from EWU should be able to:
- achieve fluency in the visual vocabulary of design;
- demonstrate proficiency in the technical skills relevant to design;
- create original design solutions that exhibit a unique personal voice;
- produce creative time-based communication, animation, and motion graphics projects using industry standard computer software;
- critically analyze kinetic forms;
- communicate and formally present concepts related to the moving image;
- demonstrate strong visual research skills with an emphasis on contemporary animation and motion design;
- establish an individual vision and creative thinking philosophy.
