Students who successfully earn a certificate in Social Emotional Learning for Educational Equity at EWU should be able to do the following:

• explicitly teach Social Emotional Learning across developmentally appropriate levels;
• demonstrate culturally responsive practices in the selection, implementation, adaptation, and monitoring of SEL curriculum;
• articulate the impact of stress and trauma on student learning and behavior;
• create strategies to engage and communicate with families and community members in a culturally responsive way in their SEL efforts;
• explain action steps to build a culture focused on SEL.
